Top tips for a successful marketing campaign

Marketing is an essential aspect of owning a business. Once a business is established, entrepreneurs focus heavily on promoting it through various different means.

We break down the top tips for a successful, multi-platform marketing campaign.

#1 – Stand out in your own, unique way

Today, it seems every second businesses have adopted the same principles of honesty, integrity, professionalism, friendship.  You can see the same values shine through when you browse through the many business websites which are out there.

But while your business possesses all these qualities, how do you stand out from the crowd?

What makes your business unique is ultimately, you. So telling your personal journey and what led to your business coming to life would be a great place to start. From the outset, you’re adding a personal tone to your relationship with your customers. Write like you’re speaking to them and don’t be afraid to show a bit of personality; let people hear your voice and you could easily stand out that way.

#2 – Talk about your struggle

It takes a lot of effort and some bumps and bruises get a business running smoothly. Share that struggle with your clients. Show them just how much effort you’ve put in and how many problems you’ve had to overcome to enjoy your current level of success. This will make you a part of them, a normal human being rather than an unknown stranger hiding behind the business with no other motivation but profit.

The fact that you are a small business gives an edge over the corporates right from the get go. Most people love to hear stories of the underdog, of the ordinary person who chose to do something not so ordinary. An honest recap of your experience would endear you to them and give your business personality and spunk.

#3 – Talk about success

Sharing your triumph is not bragging (unless you’re actually bragging, which is still okay, because you’ve probably earned your bragging rights).

Add tasteful stories about each milestone you achieved in your business and guide your readers through your history. Customers would be more impressed with success that’s well earned so don’t just tell them you succeeded; describe how you succeeded and what you had to overcome to succeed.

#4 – Identify and be in-tune with your market

If you have a good understanding of your product or service and the niche they belong to, let your customers know about it. If you’re aware of the common problems and issues faced by customers in the market and you know how to solve them, it helps you build your position as an industry expert and increases you value to the customer.

#5 – Nothing wrong with a sense of humour

Don’t be afraid to use an open, friendly tone and some harmless tongue in cheek. The intention is to let your personality become the face of your business. So if you’re a funny person, why not let some of that good humour show through?
