Why Being Bold and Different is a Great Thing in Marketing

There was a time when being bold and different was something that had negative connotations. People and companies rarely did anything that would show them off as different from the norm. Small business owners were hesitant to take risks and most liked to maintain a barrier of professionalism between themselves and the staff and themselves and the customers.

We no longer live in that world. In fact, today, uniqueness and individuality are prized. Businesses strive to be unique and bold in different ways, but it’s difficult. Your story needs to be interesting enough and you should be bold enough to capture your customers’ interest before you can find any success. So, how can you be different from others? Here are ways to be different in marketing and attracting customers.

Start Monetizing Content

You might wonder if this crazy idea would really work. The answer is that it would. There are a few caveats first. You content needs to be exemplary for it to work. If it’s not, no matter how hard you try to sell it, no one is going to buy. However, monetizing content has several advantages. People won’t hesitate to pay if there was a legitimate reason to. For example, if you’re a jewellery designer launching a set of tutorials that shows how to DIY jewellery, you’re most likely to attract a lot of people who’re willing to learn. You can use the opportunity to charge subscription fees for it.

The clear benefit of this is that people would consider your content premium content. People are willing to pay for premium content. It would also increase your website’s reputation and your authority in the eyes of the people. After all, it’s one thing to have followers, but it’s another to have followers who’re willing to pay to be your followers, it’s another matter entirely.

There’s no Need to Follow The Rules

You know what rules are? They’re restrictions and every time you follow them, you’re trying to fit into a mould. That’s the last thing you want to do in this highly competitive world. The more you try to fit in, the more potential audience you lose out on. For example, if you’re publishing content that’s similar to content everywhere, you’re just wasting your effort and energy. If you spend your time on coming up with interesting ideas that might break the monotony, your customers will appreciate it.  That’s perhaps the reason why entrepreneurs who take risks and break the rules seem to flourish.

Get Innovative with your Pricing Strategy

The end goal of all businesses is to earn money. They want to enjoy success, become famous, but in the very core of all business is money. As this is such an essential aspect of your business, can you really afford to pay very little attention to it? Smart business people will focus keenly on money and adopt a good pricing strategy. For example, there are some marketers that will send out warning emails, letting their clients know that there’s an increase in price. The more innovative entrepreneurs will increase the price and offer their customers a limited period discount.
