Reaching your goals – motivation

Things don’t happen by accident.

Just imagine that someone is going on a trip and when he comes to the booking counter he asks for a ticket to nowhere.

Most people who are going nowhere in life, are usually already there. Are you suspecting that this could be you? Let’s explore this a little further.

Start by asking yourself:

Where is nowhere and how did I get there?

The following are some of the type of things that may have negatively affected you:

  • Fear of failure
  • Avoiding risks
  • Taking – not giving
  • Not being open for new ideas
  • Lack of perseverance
  • Not wanting to make a decision
  • Living in the past

Nowhere is found by being restricted through unwillingness to see possibilities

If your next journey is going to ‘nowhere’ then you can be sure you will never depart. Sometimes you hear people complaining that others have all the luck – but is it really luck? Someone once said that sometimes our enthusiasm for change depends on our willingness to take a chance on tomorrow by risking what we have today. People who are going ‘nowhere’ are afraid to leave the supposed safety and security of ‘not moving’. They are standing still because they are afraid of failure, risks, and sticking their neck out.

The turtle may be slow but he gets there by sticking his neck out

We are free – even if our circumstances are not great, we can move above our circumstances. So, you decide, what do you want to achieve? What do you want to do with the rest of your life? Think about it – what you dream about today is possible tomorrow – dreams are the seeds of our goals.  It all starts in our mind with pictures through which we see the results of our future goals. Decide what you want:

  • see the possibility and be inspired by it
  • create images that will motivate you
  • make a start

Some people are held back because they think that they are realistic.  However you can also be realistic and set yourself up for failure.  You will then say to yourself: “Forget it, I’ll never make it.  I can’t do it.” No one plans to fail but many fail to plan.

Lloyd Jones said: “The men who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed.”

Dare to aim above what you know or even think that you can do. Goals that fit you won’t thrill you. So, if you know where you want to go you can write your own ticket and choose your own destiny.

YOU DECIDE…

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE?

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?
